I just passed the 10,000 word mark.
Which is a bit behind, in terms of my overall goal, but it's more than I've written in one story ever.
No, no, no applause or pats on the back: Send me booze!

Re: 10,000
Sun, November 12, 2006 - 10:08 PMI'm further behind, I just finished a flurry tonight that brought me up to 10,200. Once the deadline looms closer I'm sure I will be much more frantically pounding away at the keys. -

Re: 10,000
Mon, November 13, 2006 - 10:48 AMFuck Fairbanks. What the hell else do they have to do? Eat kittens? Call me we'll set up hanging out and writing ... though I get the distinct impression that we won't get much writing done, just lots of drinking.
Incidentally, have you got a sense for how much re-writing you'll need to do to make yours publishable ... I already know I'm going to have to completely re-do these first 50 pages. -

Re: 10,000
Mon, November 13, 2006 - 4:29 PMWell, there's the regular drinking meeting, but we could also hang out at a coffee place for an hour or so evenings and actually write. just a thought. anyone else in here doing NaNo? I know Diana dropped out -- anyone else on ANC tribe join?
as for re-writing, I think I'll need to rewrite for grammar and such, and to tighten up the thematic arcs. But I kind of dig what I have so far. I'd just be rewriting for readability, anyway. I don't think my first foray into novel writing will get published. Who knows. I'll definitely submit it, though. How fun is that gonna be!?
